In the ever-evolving field of airport operations, the integration of cutting-edge technologies has become essential to optimise efficiency and improve the passenger experience. One outstanding solution that is attracting a lot of attention is the ABLE (Automated Baggage Loading Equipment) system, which automates the loading of baggage onto cargo and containers.
While automation of baggage handling in terminals, from check-in counters to baggage claim, has reached a remarkable level, loading baggage into trolleys and cargo is still done manually. ABLE completes the automation cycle and offers unprecedented efficiency gains.
Within the terminals, AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) systems have become indispensable for transporting baggage between the various check-in points.
The introduction of ABLE brings a number of benefits for airport operations. First and foremost is the elimination of labour costs in baggage handling.
